How to make the perfect cup of herbal tea!

How to make a perfect cup of tea:

  1. Boil the jug and leave for a few minutes to cool slightly.
  2. Add the recommended amount of herbs to the pot, plunger, infuser, saucepan, etc. A "standard" dose is 2 - 3 heaped teaspoons per 300mls.
  3. Pour hot water over the herbs, cover and leave to steep/infuse for a minimum of 15 minutes.  The longer you leave it, the stronger the taste will become. With some herbs it will become slightly bitter, so ensure you know what you prefer as far as taste goes.
  4. Pour a cup, add honey if preferred, and enjoy!

Some teas are great as "super infusions" where you double the amount of herbs in the same amount of water and leave to steep/infuse for a few hours or overnight.  This is best achieved in a thermos to keep the tea hot.  But you can also leave it to cool and drink it that way.

We recommend having two cups of tea per day to achieve a medicinal dose.  The maximum dose would be three cups.

We recommend sitting quietly and just "being" when you have your cup of tea, envisaging the plants working their magic in your body.

Ensure your tea is stored in glass or a least an airtight container in a cool, dark place, and use within 12 months.  If it still smells good then it's still good to use. Some plants have a longer shelf life so will still be medicinal after 12 months.
